Tokei Beach

Kouri Island’s north coast is home to the famous ‘Heart Rock’, a pair of unique coral structures in the shape of a heart, raised high above the surface of the sea. This unforgettable natural phenomenon, together with the equally impressive rock formations at nearby Tokei Beach, are a highlight of any trip to Okinawa.

Kouri Ocean Tower

Other excellent destinations around the island include Kouri Ocean Tower with its gardens and panoramic views, and the spectacular Kouri Bridge Viewpoint overlooking waters that turn emerald green, cobalt blue, or even sunset orange depending on the time of day. Kouri Island also features lovely coastal walks, secret caves to explore, and sea trips on jet skis and banana boats.

Aquarium

Nearby Okinawa Island also has plenty to discover. Churaumi Aquarium, the most popular sightseeing place in the region, is just 20km from the resort. With sharks, coral, manta rays, and countless other marine species to see, this superb aquarium is one of the world’s largest and best. 

Scuba

Other major highlights include Kunigami Village, which offers both casual walks in the woods, and a complete forest therapy experience. The old-growth forest at Yanbaru no Mori National Park is likewise fascinating, with some endangered species still living in its depths. Cape Maeda is home to terrific scuba diving opportunities in its Blue Cave, letting visitors get close to sea turtles and colorful varieties of fish.
